Principal Cornet

Andrew began playing the cornet at the age of 6 and joined his first band, the Prescot Band, at the age of 7. Since then he has held the principal cornet seat with Flixton Band, Besses O' Th' Barn and Leyland DAF.

Andrew has also guested with other well known championship bands such as Brighouse & Rastrick and Grimethorpe Colliery Band. He also guested with The Trusts Waitakere Brass for the 2010 New Zealand Championships.

Andrew joined Wingates Band in 1999 as principal cornet along with his wife Sue who plays 3rd cornet.
In 2009 Andrew gained his MA in performance from Salford University and has been a teacher of brass & percussion for 15 years with Salford's music service.

Interests include: Gaming, cooking chinese & indian food and is fond of a glass of red wine, malt whisky, port or real ale!!
